Short Programme "Staying Strong Together"

The conference will take place as an attendance event from 8 to 10 May 2022 in Ulm.



8 May 2022:

Arrivals 18.00 Get-Together and Reception on the invitation of the City of Ulm

Music: Sax Quartett – Danubian melodies by the Musikschule Ulm

9 May 2022:

8:30 – Registration

9.00 – Opening words

9.15 – Opening panel: “Let's stay strong together! How is the culture in the Danube region changing due to the war in Ukraine?

11.30 – Parallel Workshops:

Workshop 1 (Stadthaus Ulm): “Cities of culture in the Danube region – How to boost creativity and innovation in times of crisis”

Workshop 2 (Haus der Donau): “Financing instruments for cultural projects in the Danube region.”

Workshop 3 (Hochschule für Gestaltung (HFG) Ulm): “New European Bauhaus on the Danube”

15.00 – Short musical intervention by Oleksandr Klimas (violin)

15.15 – Official Launch Ceremony of the 2nd Round of the Danube Small Project Fund for Culture (DSPF)

16.00 – Presentation of the granted projects of the DSPF 1st call:

  • "Between You and Me" (Regensburg, DE)
  • "The Transformative Power of Open Spaces" (St. Pölten, AT)
  • "Living Cultural Treasures of the Danube" (Ulm, DE)
  • "Danube bridges. Literature about the Danube at the Danube" (Budapest, HU)
  • "Danube Day of Music 2022" (Budapest, HU)

19.00 – Organ concert / charity event for Ukraine. In the famous Ulm Minster for all conference participants.

10 May 2022:

9:00 – With, despite and after covid: Good examples and promising initiatives – selected Danube-wide

            projects and collaborations on the spot presented and discussed by project representatives

Table 2: “Transnational Festivals & Regional Platforms”

Table 3: “Artistic Cooperation & Residencies”

14:00 – End of the conference
