Report on the Danube Conference on Culture 2022 in Ulm, Germany

Nine years ago, the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts of Baden-Württemberg, in cooperation with the European Danube Academy, launched the series of International Danube Conference on Culture (DCC) to intensify cultural policy dialogue and build international networks of representatives of the cultural scene in the Danube region. The main goal of these annual forums is to consider the Danube Region as a unique but highly diverse cultural space and to provide a platform for exchange that creates new cooperations between artists, cultural institutions and decision-makers. The conferences have become a well-known platform to present interesting projects, discuss cultural policy issues and promote our region's chances for great cultural diversity and creativity through transnational cooperation. The conference was first held in Ulm in 2013 and has now returned to Ulm in 2022 after taking place in Novi Sad, Timişoara, Ruse, Pécs, Linz, Regensburg and the Schallaburg.

The conference brought together creatives, experts and decision-makers from across the Danube region to network the diverse international cultural sector and demonstrate our solidarity with our friends in Ukraine. Against this backdrop, the motto of the conference was "Let's stay strong together!"
